Singularity Launches 'Agile Process Management For Microsoft .NET'

Software vendor Singularity today claimed leadership in automating knowledge intensive business processes on the Microsoft platform with its latest product release.  Launching Release 3.7 of its Business Process Management (BPM) suite, headlined "Agile BPM for Microsoft .NET", the company showcased their integration to a range of Microsoft technologies including SharePoint, BizTalk Server and Dynamics CRM, showing how they can orchestrate these popular enterprise systems to support complex knowledge-intensive processes at high speed.

Between 25% and 40% of the workforce in the US and Europe are classified as knowledge workers today, and this proportion is forecast to increase.  Knowledge workers also have the greatest influence on the success and growth of the organizations they work for.  But the processes they work with are badly supported by technology, since most automation has focused on simpler operational and administrative processes.  Singularity has focused its product on making knowledge workers more effective in their work by providing functionality known as 'case management'.  Combined with the company's proprietary high-speed 'agile delivery' methodology, Singularity is able to automate complex knowledge-intensive case management processes in 90 days or less.

Features showcased at the product launch included:

  • Agile BPM for Microsoft .NET – Singularity demonstrated their deep two-way integration to Microsoft SharePoint Server, Exchange Server, BizTalk Server 2006 R2, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Office Communications Server, Windows Workflow Foundation and Windows Communication Foundation.  The product can orchestrate even the most complex long-lived processes running across a mixture of Microsoft and non-Microsoft systems, storing and retrieving data and content across multiple SharePoint Server and SQL Server database installations, and enabling SharePoint to trigger actions on Singularity's BPM server.
  • Knowledge Centric Processes and Case Management – The company highlighted the enhanced support for automating knowledge worker processes.  Features demonstrated included the dynamic creation of processes in response to a human decision during a complex process; and the ability to model and measure staff competencies as workers become more proficient on a particular knowledge process over time; and the ability to manually reroute automated workflow task allocations based on a human manager's judgement and knowledge.
  • Rapid Delivery Methodology – Singularity highlighted a suite of major enhancements made in this release to further accelerate the speed at which customers can model, prototype and deploy working solutions with little or no software coding required.  Features include integrated AJAX technology, faster automated user interface generation and a raft of new pre-built integrations to a range of popular technologies such as SharePoint to drive the speed of solution implementation.
