Singularity earns CMMI

As part of a Company-wide commitment to operational excellence, Singularity has become one of the few privately owned software companies to achieve certification under the software industry's most respected standard, the Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMi). The CMMi standard was first developed at the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at US-based Carnegie Mellon University and has become a gold-standard for excellence in software engineering practice. Singularity's achievement is in recognition of the high quality of its software engineering activities and follows an extensive appraisal by an appraisal team led by a CMMi/SEI accredited assessor. “The adoption of CMMI demonstrates to our customers and our employees that Singularity believes continuous quality and process improvement is essential for growth and success,” said Sean Canavan, Quality Director. “We are delivering better products and services more effectively by using the CMMi model as a driving framework and by embedding improved practice in everyday operation using our industry-leading Business Process Management (BPM) software, the Singularity Process Platform.”

The extensive CMMi assessment included employees from Singularity's global development centres and involved detailed procedure reviews and documentation inspections. The key process areas of Project Management, Monitoring & Control and Verification across the Company's development centres were the principal focus of the assessment team's activity and in all areas Singularity fully met the assessment standards.

Singularity adds CMMi certification to its existing certification under a variety of standards including ISO9001:2000 and IIP.
