Singularity Announces Launch of WLR3 V3.0Manchester, United Kingdom – 18 March 2009 Software vendor Singularity today officially launched the latest release of its SingularityWLR3 solution for UK communications providers. This groundbreaking version of the solution provides support for the full Wholesale Line Rental 3 (WLR3) product set – PSTN, ISDN2 and ISDN30. This means communications providers in the UK can, for the first time, manage all their BT lines through a single application. The ISDN functionality includes full management of DDI number ranges and, for ISDN30, business continuity options. This is of huge interest in the telecommunications sector, as many UK communication providers have delayed migrating to the Openreach Equivalence Management platform (EMP) platform until ISDN2 services have been released. In addition, in this release Singularity have added a range of pre-built integrations to popular CRM and billing solutions such as Shaftesbury eBillz, and the company is also providing an ‘on-demand' software-as-a-service version of the solution. In 2005 the UK's communications regulator OFCOM stipulated that BT must open up its wholesale services to independent providers such as Universal Utilities. In response, BT span off its wholesale arm into a new company called Openreach, to provide a ‘level playing field' to all Telco providers in the UK who want to buy and sell phone services to business and private customers. However, before they can access these new services the independent operators have to be able to link their internal ordering systems to Openreach using a new standard called called Wholesale Line Rental 3 (WLR3). WLR3 already enables providers to access standard PSTN and ISDN30 lines, but the opportunity to order ISDN2 lines is of much greater interest to communication providers. “This release places us firmly at the forefront of the WLR market”, said Dr. Robert McGarry, Singularity's Director of Telecommunications. “Communications Providers can now migrate to WLR3 and its full suite of Wholesale Line Rental products using one simple, easy-to-use application” Singularity will be hosting a joint seminar on WLR3 migration with Openreach on Wednesday 8th April in City Place, Gatwick, London.
