Singularity and Consumer First Go Live on ISDN30 and PSTN

First Communication Provider in Northern Ireland to Achieve Milestone

Consumer First Telecom and Singularity today announced that Consumer First Telecom is the first communication provider in Northern Ireland to go live on ISDN 30 and PSTN on the OpenReach EMP platform. They connected to OpenReach for ISDN 30 using Singularity's Wholesale Line Rental 3 solution in record time. 

In 2005 the UK's communications regulator OFCOM stipulated that BT must open up its wholesale services to independent providers. In response, BT has spun off its wholesale arm into a new company called Openreach to provide a 'level playing field' to all Telco Providers in the UK who want to buy and sell phone services to business and private customers.  However, before they can access these new services the independent operators have to be able to link their internal ordering systems to OpenReach using a new standard called Wholesale Line Rental 3 (WLR3). Singularity's WLR3 product provides this link to Openreach and in the latest version also provides a connector to Shaftesbury eBillz, the most popular financial billing system used by telecommunications companies in the UK.
