Celebration of Enterprise Award

Derry-based software firm Singularity has won Best Emerging Exporter at this year's Invest Northern Ireland “Celebration of Enterprise” awards. The award was made in recognition of the company's rapid growth over the past 12 years, most of which has been driven by exports to Europe, the US and the Asia Pacific region. The ceremony, part of the national Enterprise Week, took place on Tuesday night at the Ulster Transport Museum, Belfast and was attended by senior representatives of major businesses, banks and government agencies in Northern Ireland. This is the third major award won by the firm in 2007, following on from the Deloitte Fast 50 award and the British Computer Society's IT Professional of the Year Award.

Singularity, a specialist in Business Process Management software, was founded in 1994 in Derry and is now a multi-million dollar operation with offices in Belfast, New York, London and Singapore and a wholly-owned subsidiary in Hyderabad India. The high tech firm has experienced continuous rapid annual growth in revenue and profitability since it was established.

Other awards presented on the night included Best Business Entrepreneur, Best New Innovation, Innovator of the Year and the 2007 Enterprise Hall of Fame Inductee.
